Kassandra Martinelli Represents NYS at SkillsUSA Competition
Kassandra Martinelli, a junior at North Tonawanda, will be representing New York State at the SkillsUSA competition in Louisville, Kentucky for the 52nd Annual National SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference. Six thousand students, who were named their state champions, competed hands-on in 100 different trade, technical and leadership fields. Students work against the clock and each other in their fields of expertise in contests sponsored by industry, trade associations and labor organizations.
Kassandra attends the Health Occupations Technician Program at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center and took first place at the New York State SkillsUSA competition in the Health Occupations Professional Portfolio. The contest recognizes students for their successful development of a professional portfolio. Contestants are evaluated on their ability to present themselves to prospective employers and the use of their portfolio as an effective communication skill in presenting.
