College Fair
Five local college representatives brought their expertise to North Tonawanda High School on April 24 to discuss college planning and financial aid and scholarships.
The 20th annual college information night for juniors and their parents drew approximately 150 people to hear the five guest speakers: Erik D’Aquino of ECC, Jennifer Meyers of UB, Ginny Taylor of GCC, Steve Smith of D’Youville, and Kim Buerger of NCCC.
The event focused on two main topics: College Planning and Financial Aid/Scholarships. This was followed by a panel discussion that examined the criteria required to gain admission into a four-year state college, a private college and a community college. At the end of the evening, several college t-shirts and sweatshirts were given to several students in the audience. Many of the attendees stayed well after the program asking questions of the presenters and the school counselors as well as expressing their appreciation for organizing such an interesting and helpful event.
