Principal's Message

  • Welcome to Spruce Elementary School!

It is an honor to continue to serve as the principal of Spruce Elementary School. Our school is a community school supporting students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. We are a learning community that is built upon a strong foundation of student engagement, academic growth and leadership. This culture has been established by all of the dedicated faculty, staff and parents who are committed to developing our students into confident and thoughtful learners.

In addition to strong academics in math, science and social studies, our students receive an education that teaches skills in technology, art, music and physical education. We incorporate Reader and Writer’s Workshop in each classroom to best meet the needs of individual students and also encourages a community of confident, self-determined and independent thinkers. Our students move from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.”

Spruce is a very special and welcoming place. Spruce Elementary is dedicated to creating a strong partnership between school and home, which is critical for student success. The SPTO (Spruce Parent Teacher Organization) does an excellent job of providing support that helps reinforce our school’s mission and goals with parent involvement and support.

Spruce Elementary works hard to encourage, nurture and challenge each student. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.

    Thank you,

    Patricia K. Adler
