• The North Tonawanda City School District believes that every student should have the opportunity to perform, create, and listen to music with understanding. To achieve that end, we provide every student with access to a comprehensive, balanced, and sequential program of music study in school.

At the elementary level, an understanding of music is gained through the sequenced development of concepts based on the elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, form, expression, style, composition, and performance. K-6 students in the district receive vocal music once a cycle; 4th grade students begin instrumental lessons with the recorder once a cycle as well and in grades 4-6 students participate in chorus two days a cycle.

We celebrate our students’ love for music and chorus twice a year with our Holiday Concert in December and our Spring Concert and we invite the entire North Tonawanda community to join us.
