Dear NTI Families,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. I am very excited to serve all of you in my third year as your principal. The 2018-19 school year was a most successful first year here at NTI and we have much to be proud of and celebrate! Our NTI family settled in to the building and began making it ours. Our students formed new friendships with others from around the district. Engaging learning experiences occurred on a daily basis across the academics and special areas. Families connected during special events, such as our Family Fun Night and Color Run.
In the 2019-2020 school year, we are excited about building upon our successes. During this school year, we will be focusing on creating a culture of resiliency. To help your student be successful, talk about qualities and learning behaviors such as: taking positive risks, viewing errors as opportunities, working to recover from a mistake, giving and receiving feedback, asking questions, collaborating with peers, setting goals, planning with a purpose, and tracking their own progress. Students need both high challenge and high support to grow as learners. My vision for NTI is to provide students with an educational experience that inspires and motivates them to be lifelong learners and caring contributors to the world around them. Our goal is to provide a nurturing and challenging environment that meets the individual needs of each student, both academically, socially, and emotionally.
As our motto states, together we are one. A strong partnership between home and school fosters greater success for our children. Please consider becoming involved in our Friends of NTI organization. On our calendar you’ll note the monthly meeting dates and times. Joining Friends of NTI is a wonderful way to have your ideas heard, as well as support the vision of our school.
I am looking forward to another amazing school year in service to our students, staff, parents, and community. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me and know that my door is always open.
