Dear Drake community,

 

I would like to extend a warm welcome to both our new and existing families here at Drake Elementary. It is my pleasure to welcome you to our school community and invite you to be an active member. 

 

We are excited to embark on our journey here at Drake! Our dedicated and caring staff will work diligently to provide for the academic, emotional, and social needs of our children. “Friends of Drake”, our wonderful parent-led organization, will also continue to support our program with their time, dedication, and financial assistance. We continue to celebrate our students who come to school prepared to learn and are excited about participating in the total school experience. Our goal as a faculty and staff is to support and develop the whole child and provide them with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in their academic journey.   

 

Where do parents and guardians fit into this picture? We look to you for support in getting your children to school on time and ready for the day’s work. We encourage you to conference regularly with your child’s teacher and to remain aware of your child’s progress. We rely on you to read information that is sent home from school and to contact us with your questions and concerns. We also encourage you to become an active participant in your child’s education at Drake School and are prepared to help you do so. Working together as a team, we can make your child’s elementary school experience an outstanding one and, indeed, we can grow together.

 

I know I speak for the entire Drake School staff when I say that we look forward to working with you and your child. I expect that you will soon love Drake as much as we do!
