Capital Projects
Capital projects are large strategic investments made by a school district and the community to improve the learning experiences for students. The district leadership team has established the following philosophical objectives as it relates to capital improvement projects:
Objective 1: The district’s capital reserve funds, which are dedicated savings accounts used exclusively for this work, must support critical building infrastructure upgrades, enhance the overall instructional environment for students, and minimize annual maintenance costs.
Objective 2: Projects must leverage all available New York State building aid to maximize the value of every construction dollar, while supporting the long-term goal of no additional tax impact to the community.
Objective 3: Future improvement projects should strategically compliment previous capital projects.
Capital Project Scope Overview
Community Communication
Capital projects typically take approximately five years to complete from start to finish. Therefore, consistent communication with the community is critical to highlighting project progress in a timely manner. The district is committed to regularly updating stakeholders throughout the capital project timeline.
