Hall of Windows
This week's way back Wednesday is a picture from the 1960's that shows the hall of windows at the current high school. It was later replaced with the library addition in 2000.
The first two High Schools before the one on Meadow Drive. Felton Grammar and Lowery Middle School both served as a high school. While Felton Grammar was torn down, the High School built in 1925 still stands. It was sold in 2005, 80 years after being built. It will be 100 years old in 2025.
Here is a page from the flyer put out by the Superintendent's Office in 1961. The plans for building Ohio Elementary and the new NT High School were approved.
The Superintendent was Maurice E. Friot and the five-member board consisted of Mrs. Donald Graf (President), Mr. Robert Saxon (Vice President), Mr. Robert A. Renza, Mr. Frank N. Schmidt, Mr. Edward Belbas.
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN,
School buildings that are part of our past. Pine Woods School was built in 1892. Gratwick School was built in 1925. Ironton Vocational School built in 1882. The Original NTHS was built in 1925. Felton Grammar built in 1901. We our proud of our past.
News and Views June
A June 1961 News and Views highlights the need for the new school buildings proposed. enrollment was at an all-time high. Basement rooms were being utilized in many buildings and the projections still showed us being short 8-18 rooms across the district. In the past decade we have evened out at an average of 250 students per grade level.
News and Views September
This week we go back to September 1961 and a report on school repairs done that summer. Rising student enrollment, plans for opening Ohio Elementary, and the current high school. In addition plans for Meadow Elementary were shared to house the population boom. Things were so tight that they even rented a house in Wurlitzer Park for classes to be held in. T-NT Game 1968
As we get set to host the T-NT game and everything that goes along with it this week, here is a look back to T-NT 1968.

National Honor Society
The students featured were part of the National Honor Society at NTHS. This still exists today and each year some the the best and brightest students we have work to help the community, honor the rules of the club and maintain a high grade point average.
Varsity Basketball Team
As we get set to start the winter sports season let's look back at the 1969 Varsity Boys Basketball Team.
They had a very respectable 12 and 6 record that year.
Thank You Support Staff!
Today we look back to 1969 and do a shout out to all our support staff. Here are some pictures from 1969 with our health office, kitchen and custodial workers. We couldn't get though a single day without them. Thank you!
