• Grading Policy


     For every semester that a student achieves a satisfactory grade ( S+, S or S -) a 1/4 credit will be awarded.  Unfortunately, there are times when students will not earn that credit which is indicated with a (U) on progress reports and report cards.

    Students earn 50% of their grade based on their participation.  Please click the Participation Rubric tab to see how grades are determined. 
    The other 50% of the grade is based on reading coursework which can take the form of, but is not limited to, informal assessments, comprehension questions, vocabulary activities, writing prompts and fluency checkpoints. 
    Numerical Grade Conversion Chart:
    S+ = 90 to 100
    S = 80 to 89
    S- = 65 to 79
    U = below 64
