Students in reading lab may earn 1/4 credit per semester, if they earn a satisfactory grade (S+, S, or S-). Unfortunately, students who earn an unsatisfactory grade (U) have not put in enough effort to earn credit for their time in the course.
Students earn 50% of their grade based on their participation. Below is an example of the 5-point participation rubric used to assess them each class.
The other 50% of the grade is based on their reading coursework, which includes progress monitoring of their reading and their use of the reading strategies taught in class.
Numerical Grade Conversion Chart:
S+ is 90 to 100
S is 80 to 89
S- is 65 to 79
U is below 64
