    One area that many students struggle with is writing.  Use the documents below to find some useful tips and information to help when writing any assignment.
     
    How to write a Short Response Answer (SAR)
       A SAR is a shorter writing piece, normally 6-8 sentences, that answer a question based on a reading.  Students must have specific details from the story when answering.  Many teachers at NTMS are using the RACES format for writing short answer response.  
     
     
    How to write an Extended Response (ER)
       An ER is a larger writing piece with 4 to 5 paragraphs including an introduction pargraph, 2-3 body paragraphs with specific details from the story, and a conclusion paragraph.  The answer consists of more information and usually requires students to answer more than one question about one or more reading passages.
