The students apply to the Academy during eighth grade.The Academy Advisory Board selects approximately 18 students to enter the Academy in their freshman year.The students are chosen based on general math and science grades, attendance and overall interest in engineering or architecture.
Throughout their four years, students will be grouped together in their required courses. This cooperative learning environment provides the group with a sense of community and identity.
