FACS is a 10 week class for our 7th graders. Their supplies are quite minimal: a 2-pocket folder to keep their papers in, and a $6.00 fee for their sewing projects. We are unable to accept checks for this fee.
Each student will receive an opening day sheet explaining the course, the expectations, and the reason for the money. A parent signature and the money handed in by the due date earn 100 points.
The hand sewing projects we complete are made from felt. Each student chooses their colors and buttons on their monsters. Students learn how to sew on a button, the running stitch, the butterfly stitch, and the overcast stitch in this one project.
A banner is the second sewing project. Each student chooses a felt fabric piece to work with. Next students learn how to use a cutting stencil machine to make shapes, numbers, and letters. Students are encouraged to use their creativity to make a meaningful banner.
Both projects are to be completed in school. All materials are included in the fee. Once each project is completed and graded, students take them home.
