Seasonal Flu
-
The flu is spread from person to person in coughs and sneezes or when a person touches respiratory droplets on another person or an object and then touches their own mouth or nose (or someone else’s mouth or nose) before washing their hands.
Students with “Influenza-like Illness” should stay home when they are sick.
Students should stay home until at least 24 hours after they are free of fever or signs of a fever, without the use of fever-reducing medication.
One can reduce the chances of spreading or catching the flu by:- Washing hands often with soap and water, especially after sneezing or coughing.
- Using alcohol-based hand sanitizers to clean hands if soap and water are not available.
- Covering nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
- Coughing or sneezing into your sleeve if no tissue is available.
