    Ohio School 2009-2010

This year we will work together to develop a new sense of respect among the community at Ohio School. Each month we will use the term respect as the starting point for the understanding of new terms within the character education spectrum.

Following is the list the committee decided on for this year:

SEPTEMBER – We will show respect by using good manners.

OCTOBER – We will show respect by using good judgment.

NOVEMBER – We will show respect by being kind to others.

DECEMBER – We will show respect for others by being patient.

JANUARY – We will show respect for others by being tolerant.

FEBRUARY – We will show respect for others by being honest.

MARCH – We will show respect by showing our integrity.

APRIL – We will show respect for our self by being responsible.

MAY – We will show respect for our self by showing our courage.

JUNE – We will show respect for our country by our citizenship.

Teachers will receive an e-mail during the second week of the month asking you to collaborate with your cooperating teachers, if applicable, and choose two children from your classroom that have worked hard to demonstrate the character trait for the month.

The children will then receive a certificate and token of their achievement during a picture taking session at the end of the month.

The curriculum extension teachers will also be choosing one student each month for special recognition with regards to their excellence within each particular area. These children will also receive special recognition awards from the curriculum extension teachers and will come together in a picture taking session at the end of the month as well.
